About Working WiTH Me

First, thank you for your interest, and for taking the time to look at my webpages. I get an overwhelming number of requests from people who would like to work with me, and I usually do not respond to unsolicited email applications.  If you are interested in working with me, here are a few thoughts about the best way to proceed:

If you are interested in volunteering to be a mentor for one of my K-12 robotics programs, please send an email outlining your background and interests to girlsofsteelrobotics@gmail.com.

If you are a CMU undergraduate interested in working with me on an undergraduate research project, please send me an email or just drop by my office sometime. I advise a limited number of students working on undergraduate theses each semester, if your interests align with the needs of my current research projects there may be a match.

If you are an undergraduate from another school interested in a summer internship, you should apply to the Summer Scholar’s Program. If you are interested specifically in my research, please have your academic advisor send me email.

If you are a prospective graduate student applying for the Master’s or PhD program, please note that admissions in our department are conducted independent of funding from the faculty.  Once students are admitted (decisions made in February for Fall admission), they are invited to meet with advisors to find a match. If you are interested in working with me, please contact me during the spring visit for admitted students or during the Immigration Course in August.
